TAST Partners with Thai-Japan Alliance at Hydrogen Symposium to Drive Clean Energy Transition

On August 3, 2026, at Mercure Bangkok Sukhumvit 24, the Academy of Science and Technology of Thailand (TAST) co-organized the Thailand–Japan Symposium on Hydrogen for Energy Transition: Bilateral Cooperation under the NEXUS Programme. The event was held in collaboration with the National Energy Technology Center (ENTEC/NSTDA), King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), and the International Institute for Carbon-Neutral Energy Research (I2CNER), Kyushu University. The symposium brought together over 100 researchers, academics, industry leaders, and policymakers.

The symposium served as a bilateral platform to exchange technical knowledge, bridge academic and industrial perspectives, and strengthen Thai-Japanese cooperation in clean energy deployment. Key leadership members from TAST played prominent roles in the event:

Dr. Kanyawim Kirtikara, Senior Vice President for Research and Innovation at KMUTT and Board Member of TAST, highlighted that Japan’s leadership in advanced hydrogen and fuel cell technologies complements Thailand’s rich renewable energy resources, research capabilities, and industrial readiness. She emphasized that the synergy among KMUTT, ENTEC, Kyushu University, and TAST is vital for supporting Net Zero Greenhouse Gas Emissions by 2050.

Prof. Dr. Navadol Laosiripojana, Chairman of the Executive committee of TAST and Director of The Joint Graduate School of Energy and Environment (JGSEE, KMUTT), delivered a Keynote Lecture sharing technical advancements and strategic insights on hydrogen implementation for the energy transition.
