The U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine is releasing a small grant opportunity to scientists from Southeast Asia who are affiliated with regional and national scientific networks to counter misinformation in biology, medicine, and public health. More information about the small grant opportunity is available on the grant application page.
This grant opportunity builds on a recent 2021 study the U.S. National Academies published, Addressing Inaccurate and Misleading Information about Biological Threats through Scientific Collaboration and Communication , which recommended a strategy for developing a trusted international network of scientists who can help to refute inaccurate and misleading scientific claims that lead to mis- and disinformation about infectious disease events and other biological threats.
Applications are being accepted now through September 15, 2022. The Request for Proposals is accessible on the grant application page.
